The Sparks are One Game Close To the WNBA Title

The Los Angeles Sparks are one game away from the title with 92 to 75 win over the defending champion Minnesota Lynx’s to take a two games to one lead in the series. They could wrap up their first title since 2002 and the first in Candice Parker era on Sunday back at Staple Center.

The Sparks aggressive inside game lead by the one two punch of Candice Parker and Nneka Ogwumike the Lynx’s never had a answer for.  Maya Moore the leader of the Lynx’s was held in check. She scored a playoff low of nine points.

The Sparks jumped out to a 22 point lead in the first eight minutes of the game by forcing 13 turnovers that turned in 24 Sparks Points. The Lynx’s  closed twice with in eight 48 to 40 at the half and 58 to 50 only to the see the Sparks pull away at the end.

Alana Beard quoted: “Finish strong. That’s our mindset. We have to go back and make more adjustments. We have to come out and play the way we’re capable of playing. If we do the little things, everything will take care of itself.”
