The Big East Conference is one of, if not the toughest conference in college basketball. With the likes of Villanova, Seton Hall, Providence, Creighton and Xavier competing against one another, anything is possible.

Chris Holtmann Named New Head Coach Of Ohio State

Former Butler head coach Chris Holtmann will be transferring from the Big East Conference to the Big Ten Conference. He has been named the new head coach of Ohio State University. The announcement was made official on Friday, June 9.

NCAA March Madness Outlook

According to NCAA.com, The Division I Men’s Basketball committee unveiled their predictions for the Sweet 16 for March Madness, on CBS this afternoon. They have the defending National Champions, the Villanova Wildcats, on top as the first seed, and have Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils, 16th. In between those teams are the likes of schools such as North Carolina, Louisville, and the currently-ranked number 1 team in the country, the Gonzaga Bulldogs. With the tournament a month away, and the regular season still currently ongoing, it’ll be interesting to see how accurate the committee was with their choices, and how everything ends up playing out.

Many of the Bigs of the old Big East are no longer in the conference. The rivalries aren’t as intense, and team’s show brotherly support for their conference mates. But Villanova’s Kris Jenkins threw up the shot that gave this version of the Big East instant cred.
