By Ryan Rocklin,

When discussing who’s going to win the NCAA Tournament, most people mention Duke, UCLA, and Kentucky, but a few mid-major teams are making noise heading into March. The five best mid-major teams are Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, Valparaiso, Wichita State, and Monmouth. These five teams have proven themselves this year and they continue to do so. Out of these five teams, my top pick to be a threat in March Madness is Gonzaga. I would have chosen Saint Mary’s before Thursday, but after losing to UT-Arlington by 14 points, the Gaels don’t look ready to compete in March.

The Detroit native is one of the best players that Rhode Island has ever produced. Unfortunatly, a torn ACL in the opening game of the 2015-2016 season kept Matthews out for the remainder of the season. Now many people are wondering if he can ever return to his former glory?
