Former Butler head coach Chris Holtmann will be transferring from the Big East Conference to the Big Ten Conference. He has been named the new head coach of Ohio State University. The announcement was made official on Friday, June 9.

According to numerous news outlets, Miles Bridges of Michigan State, has decided to keep his college basketball career going next season. “I got some unfinished business here,” Bridges told the Associated Press. Bridges’ ultimate goal is to hoist the NCAA National Championship over his head. Bridges had a dazzling freshmen year campaign, leading the Spartans in points per game, which was 16.7 points.

Rapolas Ivanauskas of Northwestern To Be Out for the Season

Northwestern announced that Rapolas Ivanauskas will be out for the 2016-17 season as the freshman forward will undergo shoulder surgery.

When there’s talk about a team from Illinois with no postseason chance, it’s usually about the Chicago Cubs – although many of Chicago’s other professional teams teeter on that line. The Northwestern University Wildcats have never been to the NCAA tournament – NEVER (not even when they hosted the tournament in 1939). But the 2016-2017 season could be the year the Purple and White travel the road to March Madness.
